I am so excited about the girls teen groups beginning this summer that I could almost run around the parking lot naked! Well, not really. I am no longer a teenager myself or courageous enough to do that anymore, but I feel like it! My heart is tickled pink with excitement for the opportunity this presents. I must share this info with you!
Plans are in the works for 2 groups for girls ages 13-15 and 16-18 who are struggling with low self-esteem, anxiety or depression. Spaces are limited to 4 per group and this is purposeful. A smaller group feels more comfortable, intimate and well just better. The group will focus on the idea of "looking for lovely." In every situation, in every success and failure, in every person there is "lovely." I wish this was my idea, but it wasn't. Annie Downs created a bible study for women based on the notion that we too often focus on the negatives and never find the lovely. I thought this was such a great way to put it, I couldn't say it any better. I have taken some of her ideas, along with some of my ideas and of course empirical studies on cognitive-behavioral therapy, mixed with creative arts therapies and turned all of it into one big, awesome plan. Of course I realize things don't always go as planned especially with teenagers, but it's usually best to start with one and so here it is. Thursday nights from 6 til 7:30 for 8 weeks -cost is $100. Beginning sometime in June! Reserve your spot today and pay later. It's going to be just lovely!
